One of my favorite ways to spend time with my two daughters is running. My nine year old daughter, Zoey, jogs beside me while I push my youngest daughter, Shelby in the baby jogger. Having the three of us together and being outside is such a joy.
My daughter, Zoey, is highly motivated to run when I mention running out to a house that has a small horse farm 1.5 miles from our house. Once we get there, we stop so she can admire the horses.
Eventually we make our way back home with both girls in good spirits. It's a great way to expend their energy too, shortly after, my youngest daughter Shelby takes an extra-long nap from being outside.
My daughters have grown up so quickly and I value these moments together doing something we love. I hope when they are older, my girls will find that running is more than competing and staying fit but, a way to bond as a family. So this Spring and Summer I look forward to our runs and I hope you do too with your children, because life is short, so why not spend it with those that you love?
**The Runner's Spot Family would like to congratulate Carol on her overall win this Sunday in the All American 5K where she came in with an impressive time of 21:13! Way to go Carol!**
